Self-Loading Concrete Mixer

AS-3.5 Self Loading Concrete Mixer Adapt to All Terrains In Peru

On a road construction site in Peru, a self-loading mixer is travelling alone through soft sand, where even conventional concrete trucks can’t get through, delivering fresh concrete in real time and with precision to the final paving point. This is Aimix’s on-site concrete mixing solution for construction projects. I’ll get into the specifics of the case study below.

Complex Terrain Challenge

Peru has a large number of complex terrains with “V-shaped valleys + steep mountain roads + muddy roads during the rainy season”. The client company was engaged in a road construction project. The terrain is complex and varied, ranging from soft sand to steep slopes, making it difficult for conventional concrete mixing trucks to travel reliably. The project site is scattered and remote, making the construction of a fixed mixing plant costly and difficult to relocate.

Slope limit:
The construction site is located on a steep slope of more than 30°, which is simply not accessible to conventional mixer trucks (maximum gradient of about 25°);.

Narrow roads:
The width of the mountain road is only 3.5 metres, and the turning radius of the traditional mixer truck (about 6 metres long) is too large, making it easy to cut off the mountain or fall down;

Soft road surface:
during the rainy season, the soil on the mountain road is soft, and traditional equipment (weighing more than 10 tonnes) is prone to getting stuck in the car, which requires an additional call for trailer rescue.

How to ensure the supply of concrete to multiple work sites under the extremely variable terrain became the key to the success or failure of the project.

All Terrain Mobile Concrete Mixing Solution

The company chose our self-loading mixer. Its all-wheel drive system and articulated steering chassis provide excellent passability, easily tackling steep slopes, sandy and muddy roads.

Steep slope passage:our self-loading mixer uses a powerful engine and a specialised construction machinery chassis, matched with all-wheel drive and a low-speed, high-torque gearbox for a maximum climbing capacity of 35°.

Through narrow roads:this AS-3.5 model A type adopts articulated steering design, with a minimum turning radius of only 5.3 metres, and the whole machine width is only 2.68 metres, which allows it to turn flexibly under the extreme 3.2-metre wide road conditions.

Overcoming soft road surface:High-strength aluminium alloy body + modular design reduces the weight to 7.9 tonnes (25% lighter than traditional equipment). It is also equipped with off-road engineering tyres, which provide a larger grounding area and significantly reduce the pressure on the ground, thus providing excellent anti-trapping capability.

In addition, this self-loading concrete mixer integrates the functions of loading, mixing and transporting, just like a mobile concrete mixing plant, which can directly go to the forefront of the construction site to carry out the work, and completely get rid of the dependence on fixed facilities and complex logistics.

Let’s See What Our Customers Say – Real Feedback from Customers

Carlos Mendoza (Project Director):

“For projects like ours, where sites are spread out, we no longer need to co-ordinate mixing plant and fleet times or worry about road issues causing supply cuts. Not only does it allow us to move the project forward at exactly our own pace, but it also helps us reduce additional equipment expenses.”

Javier Quispe (Operator):

“I’ve driven a lot of construction vehicles and this one is much more intuitive to operate. It has good visibility and drives well. The last time I went up a muddy hill after it rained, it went up easily; if I had an older unit, I would have sunk in and called a tow truck.”

Luis García (Equipment Maintenance Supervisor):

“Our concrete related maintenance costs have really gone down with the introduction of this equipment. It’s built strong for the conditions we have here. It’s been in intensive use for three months now, and apart from routine maintenance, there have been no major problems.”

Our self-loading concrete mixers are not only efficient production tools, but also all-round solutions for conquering variable terrain, ideal for meeting the challenges of construction in Peru and similarly complex environments.

Today, more and more customers around the world are choosing AIMIX self-loading mixers, and our equipment is helping builders everywhere to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals!
